Keep up with the latest energy technologies

Recently, in Kyiv took place the Korean-Ukrainian "Smart Grid Forum" on the prospects of the Smart Grid technology development in Ukraine. South Korea is a global leader in the development and implementation of Smart Grid technologies. Collaboration with Korean companies will help to create the Smart Grid Concept in Ukraine and prepare a plan of measures to implement the Energy Strategy of Ukraine by 2035 in terms of reducing electricity losses for its transmission and distribution by electric grids.

One of the main goals of the forum was the signing of the Memorandum of cooperation in the field of electric power industry between the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine and the South Korean companies KEPCO and KOTRA. By signing of this document, the parties demonstrated the desire to share knowledge in the areas of integration of renewable energy sources, energy storage systems, technology exchange in the areas of Smart Grid, AMI (Advanced Metering Infrastructure), SCADA (data management control and collection), management of power outages, etc.

A delegation from PJSC "Khmelnytskoblenergo", headed by acting CEO Oleh Kozachuk, took an active part in the prestigious forum. Khmelnytsky power engineers presented to the interested audience the "Pilot project on the implementation of the AMI system on the basis of Starokostyantyniv REG”, told about its perspectives, in particular, reduction of electric energy costs, improvement of the quality of energy supply, increasing the tariff options and the possibility of obtaining data on energy consumption in real time.

During the first meeting of the Smart Grid Committee members, which included the acting CEO of PJSC "Khmelnytskoblenergo" Oleh Kozachuk, the Technical Director Ruslan Slobodian and the Director of Information Technologies Sergiy Petrenko, they have discussed the implementation of pilot projects in Ukraine and outlined the first steps in this direction.
